Leon Berthiaume, General Manager – Leon graduated from the University of Vermont in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He is a certified Public Accountant who worked for a Vermont accounting firm before joining the St. Albans Cooperative Creamery in 1984 as the controller. He was appointed to General Manager in 1991 and is responsible for overall Cooperative operations and the support and achievement of the Cooperative’s Mission Statement.
Tom Gates, Cooperative Relations Manager– Tom graduated from the University of Vermont in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He grew up on a family owned dairy farm in Vermont and is familiar with the dairy industry and with the importance of quality milk. He has gained valuable supervisory and management experience while working for Quaker Fabric Corporation in Massachusetts. Tom joined the St. Albans Cooperative management team in February of 2006.
Rob Hirss, Operations Manager- Rob graduated from the University of Vermont in 1982 with a B.S. degree in Dairy Technology. He has over 30 years of dairy plant management experience including time with Pollio Dairys, International Cheese, Beatrice Cheese, St. Albans Co-op, Cabot Cheese and Swan Valley Cheese. He rejoined the Coop’s Management Team in June 2015 as the Operations Manager.
Douglas Lee, Controller – Doug graduated from St. Bonaventure University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and from LeMoyne College in 2009 with a Master degree in Business Administration. Doug is also a licensed CPA in the states of New York and Vermont. Doug joined the St. Albans Cooperative management team in March of 2013 after moving to Vermont from Central New York where he held management roles at significant manufacturing and retail establishments.
